When I feel fully prepared to take my board exam, God willing, I will pass on the first try. I intend to take the American Nurses Credentialing Center exam. I have a few reasons why this is better. First, the exam material is extensive and comparable to my practice area. Furthermore, ANCC’s website provides more thorough exam details that can help with material preparation, test day logistics, and building a reliable expectation (ANCC vs. AANP, 2022).The additional thirty minutes they were allowed me to study for the exam and improve my score. The ANCC covers a greater number of exam questions, which increases my opportunities to evaluate my knowledge and receive points (Morris, 2023). Comparatively speaking, ANCC’s passing percentage (87%) is much greater than AANP’s (74%). Both organizations offer coverage for the FNP certification, which is a plus. In conclusion, the ANCC provides proctored testing, which makes it more convenient than the AANP; yet, I would instead visit the testing location because it will enable me to participate entirely in the exam (ANCC vs. AANP, 2022). Regarding pricing, the AANP is $315, but joining the AANP lowers that cost to $240. The ANCC exam is $395 for nonmembers and $295 for members.DISCUSSION POST # 2Reply to TaishaAANP examThe American Academy of Nurse Practitioners offers a board certification exam. At the successful completion of the exam the Nurse Practitioners may use the acronym NP-C (nurse practitioner certified) to indicate their credential. I plan to take this exam in December which is one past my anticipated completion date. The exam has 150 questions I which 135 are used to score the exam. The exam consists of equally divided assessment, diagnosis, planning and evaluation questions.Prior to testing the student must obtain an authorization to test where evaluation of the coursework, didactics, clinic experience, clinical sites, preceptors, professional nursing licenses will be completed. The student is eligible to take the test as soon as all components of the educational program is complete. After the completion of the above the student receives an authorization to test. The test must be scheduled within 120 days of the authorization to test. This certification is good for 5 years.I chose this certification exam because the fee to test is reasonable at 315.00 for non-members versus ANCC 395.00, the ability to take the practice examination for 50.00 prior to testing, and the 135 graded questions versus ANCC 175 questions. I highly dislike tests with a lot of questions. The one thing I don’t like about the examination is that it is online and proctored. I found this through the completion of this assignment. I am annoyed by tests that a proctored this way because I personally find it to be a distraction. I like to look around, do neck exercises, and make sudden movements while I test. It is stressful to test and feel like a certain move you make may be misconstrued as cheating. This is a Hugh turnoff for me, but the ANCC uses the same criteria therefore I have no way around it.Replyto2Discussions.docxReply to 2 DiscussionsRequirementAPA format.
