Chis Nickerson and his tiger team of penetration professionals was hired to conduct a penetration test for Jason of Beverly Hills which specializes in customized jewelry for Hollywood personalities. Although they were not able to enter the facility using “break-in” techniques, they were able to walk in through the front door. They use a variety in social engineering tactics to “sweet talk” their way inside. Social engineering is a deceptive way for individuals or groups, primarily using the skill of charm and acceptance, to gain access to confidential resources or information that they would normally not be authorized (Hulme & Goodchild, 2017). It can be done in person, telephone, email, and most any other form of communication.

As part of the tiger team’s social engineering strategy, they were able to get an employee to put there thumb drive in her desktop computer, thus, granting them access to the corporate database via a program running from the thumb drive. While there, no one of the employees there ask them for any credentials to show that they were magazine representatives. It was quite easy for them to roam around the company with no challenges from the employees.  The team was able to gather intelligence for their test by taking pictures (with no challenges), wearing a hat cam, and social networking activities with employees. They also used a technique to glean information from the front door HID and used the information. An overall excellent use of social network was displayed in this video and clearly shows that the organization could use some user awareness and training.

Suburban Homes Construction Project Quality Management Plan (QMP) 

Prepare a quality management plan using the elements described in the PMBOK 6e (Section 8.1.3.1) for the Suburban Homes Construction Project.

Content (90 points) Over the course the semester you’ve become familiar with the project and as part of the overall project management plan, a quality management plan is needed to communicate how quality will be met to the satisfaction of each stakeholder involved in a typical residential construction project.

You should perform research on quality standards associated with residential construction to determine applicable standards.  At least four (4) quality objectives associated with the project should be defined.

As part of the section on quality tools, include a separate appendix with at least three (3) quality tools that will be used as a part of the project.  These can be drawn from: 1) flow charts, 2) check sheets, 3) Pareto diagrams, 4) histograms, 5) control charts, 6) scatter diagrams, 7) affinity diagrams, 8) process decision programs charts, 9) interrelationship digraphs, 10) tree diagrams, 11) prioritization matrices, 12) activity network diagrams, 13) matrix diagrams, 14) inspections, and 15) statistical sampling.

Last, about 1/3 of the plan should be devoted to major procedures relevant for the project for dealing with non-conformance, corrective actions procedures, and continuous improvement procedures.

If information needed to complete a QMP is not explicitly stated in the scenario description or other project artifacts you’ve created or collected for this scenario in the past units, then develop (make-up) the information you need to complete the plan.  Use tables and illustrations as needed to convey information.

The plan (excluding the separate appendix) should be approximately 4 to 5 pages.

Currently, I am involved in a project for a banking client where they are modifying their existing IT technology infrastructure with new tooling from market by working with vendors from Amazon and Azure Cloud focusing more on Automation. At the same time, they are also making changes to their legacy application which will streamline existing Web application with an intuitive look, that will further strengthen their relationships with outer customers by facilitating ease-of-use for their daily activities and bring about cross-sell opportunities for other products and services.  It will also result in improved customer satisfaction for a company. The current payments product which was implemented in 2007 is outdated, does not meet customer expectations and lags the competition in terms of ease of use.

The scope of the project is to apply the concepts of Continuous Integration, Continuous delivery, Continuous improvements, Six-Sigma and Release Management so that software can be easy to compile, integrate, test and produce a quick deployment in sandbox, development, QA and production environment.

Continuous Integration will allow us to catch issues at earlier stage in sandbox environment and will reduce integration problem allowing us to deliver new updates and products at much faster rate. Once everything is working according to expected, application is put toward stress environment to check its fatigue. By implementing the automation from code level to infrastructure level, it has become very easy for us to track the issue at earlier stages and deliver the updates to software on time. 

During the process of Continuous integration, there were many teams whom we relied upon like Database Administrator, Build Engineer, Developer, Test Engineer, DynaTrace Engineer, Monitoring team, Server engineer and Security team. So, making sure that everybody’s services are utilized during a given time was little hectic as most of them were involved in more than three to four projects, so managing all was little a painful task for Project Manager. But once issues were debugged, we used to document it as a lesson learned, so that we may not spent more time in future on the same issue.

If I must start this project again, I will make sure that resources who will work on Continuous Integration project will be belonging to one team, rather than pulling resources from different team when need arises. All the road maps and metrics are properly designed by taking into consideration the challenges and mitigating the risks.
