Week 5 DiscussionData representation and interactivity are important aspects of data visualization.  Review the text by Kirk (2019) and note at least three storytelling techniques.  Note the importance of each and the advantages of using these techniques.

This week we focus on physical modeling design with the “representational aspects” and the “operational aspects” of the database. In the following weeks, we work in the internal DBMS specific operations and processes and how the DBMS interacts with the data, the database and the user. The translation from logical design to physical design assigns “functions” to both the machine (the DBMS) and the user. Functions such as storage and security, and additional aspects such as consistency of data and learnability are dealt with in the physical model/schema. Practically speaking, a physical schema is the SQL code used to build the database.

You can use any of the Online SQL systems discussed in class, Microsoft Access, or download and install a SQL Script Editor for your computer. A copy of the SQL code is required for this assignment. You will build the front-end for the user (DBMS) at the end of the intersession weeks.

Use SQL statements to populate your Database Relational Schema data. Implement your design by generating a file of SQL to create the code script. This should include:the creation of tables, but also (as appropriate) the creation of named, data type, and constraints. Constraints are used to limit the type of data that can go in a table. This ensures the accuracy and reliability of the data in the table. If there is any violation between the constraint and the data action, the action is aborted.

NOTE:  

create statements for the database, tables, views, procedures and such, all of which focus on the structure around the data. They are part of the Data Definition Language (DDL). You’ll need to upload both the physical model ERD and the DDL SQL statements in your submission. The physical model is the logical model with the data types (int, char, varchar, date, timestamp, etc) included in the diagram (week3 diagram with data types). Let me know what platform the SQL statements are for that is, are you using SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Amazon’s databases, Azure etc as they all have a common SQL base but have different nuances that I have to account for when I test the code. I challenge you to have both an introduction and a conclusion to your paper. attached are precious document 

Create an application that allows the user to search for different cat breeds and to get information about them. The application must use the Cat API (https://thecatapi.com/) – specifically read the documentation (https://docs.thecatapi.com/) for information about how to get an API key, and how to use the API. You can get the free API key and use it for this application without any issues 

You will use the data returned as JSON from the Cat API to list the breeds of cats available through the site in a drop-down (known as a Spinner in Android development). Once the breed is selected, the API may be contacted again to obtain the image of the cat, if one exists. You should keep the spinner in a fragment near the top of the app.

The fragment near the bottom of the app should contain an ImageView, and multiple widgets/views for displaying text about the cat. In addition to displaying the image of the cat, you should show information such as the name, temperament, and origin. The image view and other widgets for the breed information could be kept inside a ScrollView.

Note: Use the Fragment + ViewModel template in android studio to start this assignment.

Scenario: Your Learning  Team has been asked by senior management to cut costs related to the IT  infrastructure of your company. Your team does all of the cost analysis  and finds that VMware can save the company a considerable amount of  money moving forward following the initial investment in the VMware  software.

Add 3 to 4 slides to your  proposal presentation discussing how Automation within VMware can help  save the administrator time versus managing physical machines.

Combine your team’s prior weeks’ work, incorporating any faculty feedback, and submit a 12- to 14-slide PowerPoint  presentation along with a 1- to 2-page Executive Summary proposing the  deployment of vSphere into the datacenter. That proposal should compare  and contrast vSphere versus an all physical infrastructure. Your summary  should discuss the deployment and value of:

• Week Two:
  • Centralized Management benefits of VMware
• Week Three: 
  • Virtual Network benefits
  • Storage: differentiate between shared storage types and how to apply each type to VMware.
  • How Storage vMotion can be used to create greater up-time
• Week Four: 
  • Using Templates to save deployment time of VM’s versus physical hardware
  • Resource Allocation (CPU, Mem) in VMware versus how resources are allocated on a physical machine
• Week Five:
  • How Automation within VMware can help save the administrator time versus managing physical machines

Professor’s Feedback for Week 3 Assignment:

You are meeting the minimum requirements but I also think you are missing opportunities. For starters, your grammar and writing can be improved. With multiple people in your group, you should be peer reviewing each other’s work to avoid sentences such as.. “Standardized with industrial standards (Oglesby, 2005).” – should this be industry standards? “Virtual network can be orchestrated from a single point.” – you should say A virtual network can be… or you should say Virtual networks can be… These are just 2 examples. There are more. In business, it is critical that you can write effectively and manipulatively. In this assigment especially, you are to convince management that they should invest in a pricey CAPEX purchase. You must be convincing, compelling, and demonstrate the business need to cut costs. To that end, there is still plenty of opportunity to do that. The assignment suggests that you’ve done a “cost analysis”. I don’t see this. Overall, you have some good information in your presentation but it needs to be tied together and maybe organized a bit more smoothly. For example, how much does it cost the company per minute when a mission critical application goes down? And how many times per year historically would that application server go down? The answers to these questions are how you would back into a number to portray an accurate measurement of how much vmware can save the company.
