You will be required to write one term paper this semester. The specifications are as follows:

1. You must write a 5-8 page term paper on a topic of your choice related to cybercrime (ALL TOPICS MUST BE APPROVED). Some examples would include, how to avoid being a victim of cybercrime, the laws surrounding cybercrime, a recent incident related to cybercrime or pick an individual cybercrime and discuss the impact this crime has on society. Please write the term paper in a Word document and then upload it for grading.

 1. Protecting Online Privacy for Individuals or Cyber bullying on Social Media

2. The Impact of Social Media on Brand Reputation

3. Succession Planning and Development of Leadership or Diversity and Inclusion at the work place

4. Artificial intelligence fairness and bias in automated decisions making system

This week, we will be creating a Word document and will be learning about different features that are available for you to use in Microsoft Word.  Prior to completing your discussion, ensure that you review your weekly lecture and the Week 2 Individual Project assignment instructions. (Click here for the Week 2 Individual Project instructions.) 

Next, in your initial post, provide the following: 

• Discuss who you will write about for your Week 2 Individual Project. 
• Provide at least three unique and creative design features from the Week 2 Individual Project instructions you will be adding to your Word document.   
• Explain why you chose these design features to highlight and what impact they will have on your document.   

Your initial post is required to be at least 150 words and is due by Friday at 11:59pm EST.

The mean, median, and mode are frequently referred to as the measures of central tendency. All three of these are used commonly, especially by the media when trying to make a point or persuade an audience to some point of view. However, each of these three statistical measures has their own shortcomings.

For your own original contribution to this Discussion Board, complete the following:

1. Research the shortcomings of measures of central tendency. Summarize your findings and cite your sources.
2. Find an example where a mean, median, or mode was used by the media or a company to make a specific point. Evaluate this use and then share your evaluation with the class. Be sure to specifically discuss any caveats or risks associated with the way the organization in your example used their central tendency metric.
3. Discuss if you think the right measure was used. Share a recommendation for a better measure if you think there is one.

Homework:

Review The Power of Good Design- https://www.vitsoe.com/gb/about/good-design   and select three of the ten principles noted for good design. Next in R, utilize these three principles in a problem that you will solve. First note the problem to solve, the dataset (where the information was pulled from), and what methods you are going to take to solve the problem.  Ensure the problem is simple enough to complete within a two-page document. For example, I need to purchase a house and want to know what my options are given x amount of dollars and x location based on a sample of data from Zillow within each location. 

Ensure there is data visualization in the homework and note how it relates to the three principles selected.
