Purpose

As a cybersecurity risk analyst, you have been tasked with a new project. You will conduct a qualitative cybersecurity risk assessment for a cloud-based software service. In addition, you will outline mitigation strategies for all of the risks you have identified for the existing version of the service. Finally, you will propose a process for integrating risk assessment into a software development life cycle. After the project is completed, your hope is to publish a case study to be used as a model for academia and/or for organizations by submitting the case study to a peer-reviewed cybersecurity or information security journal. Journals can be found using the Internet or the Purdue Global Library. If you are having a problem finding a journal to use, please reach out to your instructor.

Assignment Instructions

(If applicable, you can use the same open source project used in Unit 3.)

For Assignment purposes, select a multi-layered (presentation layer, business layer, and database layer) Web-based open source project. Assume that the presentation layer resides on a dedicated server in the company’s DMZ. The other two layers of the software are behind the corporate firewall and can reside on one or two dedicated servers. The Web application is accessible from the Internet and is browser based. Firefox™, Chrome™, Internet Explorer®, and Safari® are the supported browsers, or you have the option to use a multi-layered application that you have access to. However, notify your instructor if this is the case and explain the situation.

1. Conduct a qualitative cybersecurity risk assessment on the software product/service. This can include internal and external risks. Do not forget to consider the operating systems involved, what programming languages are used, and some of the inherent risks for the particular programming language(s). The same goes for the database and web servers used.
2. Identify at least five cyber risks and describe each in detail and why it is a risk for this system.
3. Outline mitigation strategies for each of the cyber risks you have identified.
4. Support your research and assertions with at least three credible sources. You may use peer-reviewed articles, trade magazine articles, or IT research company (Gartner, Forrester, etc.) reports to support your research; you can use the Library to search for supporting articles and for peer-reviewed articles. Wikipedia and similar sources are unacceptable.

Assignment Requirements

• At least 3–4 pages of content (exclusive of title page, etc.), using the format from the peer-reviewed journal you found.
• APA style.
• At least three credible sources.
• No spelling errors.
• No grammar errors.
• No APA errors.

We have seen an exponential increase in the number of cybercrimes and litigations involving large organizations and individuals. Cybercrime remains the greatest threat to every company globally and one of the biggest problems with humankind. 

Cybercrime can have a great impact on the younger generation. Young adults use the internet more than any other age group, which is why they are the first victims of cybercrime. Many individuals from the younger generation have attempted suicide after falling victim to cybercrime.

You are required to complete an individual paper, which will focus on the “Cyber Crime: How it Impacts Young Adults” – Paper will make up 8 percent of your final grade. 

Due dates for the papers are provided in the Course Schedule section of this syllabus. 

General Project Guidelines 

Use a minimum of five sources for each assignment. You can use your textbook as a reference, but it will not count as one of your sources. Your sources should be reputable—do not rely on Websites not associated with professional organizations and institutions (blogs, etc.). Any items taken from the Web should be carefully evaluated to ensure that they are appropriate for a college-level assignment. Your papers should incorporate concepts discussed in our classroom and within the textbook, modules, and other reading materials. 

Formatting Guidelines for Papers 

Papers must contain at least five to six double-spaced pages in 12-point font with proper citations and a bibliography. Use the American Psychological Association (APA) 7th edition style guide for citations and references. The bibliography will not count toward the page total. Papers should contain the following sections: 

1. Cover page (does not count toward page total)—This includes the paper’s title, your name, the class title, and the date of submission. 
2. Introduction—This is an introductory statement about your paper. What point are you making, or what are you hoping to discover? Provide the thesis or purpose of the paper here. 
3. Body—This is the main section of the paper. Make sure you thoroughly fulfill the requirements of the assignment. Do what you stated in the introduction and support your conclusions. 
4. Conclusion—This is the part of your paper where you give your final thoughts. Based on your analysis, what have you concluded about the points or questions raised in the introduction? 
5. Bibliography (does not count toward page total)—This contains your reference list, which must be formatted in APA 7th edition guidelines.

Go to Google Scholar (scholar.google.com). Conduct a search to find two papers written in the last five years that compare and contrast multiple machine-learning methods for a given problem domain. Observe commonalities and differences among their findings and prepare a report to summarize your understanding.

2. List and briefly explain different learning paradigms/methods in AI.

3. What is representation learning, and how does it relate to machine learning and deep learning?

5. What is MLP, and how does it work? Explain the function of summation and activation weights in MLP-type ANN.

Cognitive computing has become a popular term to define and characterize the extent of the ability of machines/computers to show “intelligent” behavior. Thanks to IBM Watson and its success on Jeopardy!, cognitive computing and cognitive analytics are now part of many realworld intelligent systems. In this exercise, identify at least three application cases where cognitive computing was used to solve complex real-world problems. Summarize your findings in a professionally organized report.
