Psychosocial Factors and Patient Education

Home>Homework Answsers>Nursing homework helpggTopic 2 DQ 2The difference in culture, origin, and worldviews significantly affects how healthcare professionals handle various patients. Consequently, while working with Sister Mary, a healthcare professional’s possible reservations could have included spirituality, social beliefs, and religious beliefs. Spirituality is the connection between human beings and supernatural beings, essential in patients’ lives. Nonetheless, most health providers do not talk about religious beliefs and spirituality during patient education due to various reasons, such as poor communication, psychosocial factors, and time limits (Henderson et al., 2018). When caring for Sister Mary, healthcare providers must recognize their own biases, try to focus on their care, and not on assumptions or judgments. The most important step in reducing prejudice is acknowledging that it exists and working on being mindful of those attitudes when providing care (Narayan, 2019). A health professional should remain respectful and culturally competent; thus, a health professional should desist from discrimination and judging a patient by appearance, dialect, spiritual inclination, degree of illness, and behavior.Cultural competence is essential in providing quality and patient-centered care; therefore, while working with Sister Mary, a health provider should make reservations that do not contradict her social beliefs. In a clinical setting, health providers come across patients, such as Sister Mary, who have varied beliefs and cultures; thus, a health professional should reserve their ideas to learn and understand Mary’s religious and cultural beliefs (Lin et al., 2017). Moreover, other reservations a health professional could make include offering compassion and love to Sister Mary, irrespective of the differences in their cultural and social beliefs. Reservations in health care allow healthcare professionals to tailor-make the treatment process to suit every patient; thus, it requires critical thinking, justice, beneficence, and nonmaleficence. What possible reservations could a health care professional have in working with Sister Mary? (Discuss the psychosocial responses the professional might have.)Using 200-300 words APA format with at least two references. Case Study: Healing and Autonomy

Home>Homework Answsers>Nursing homework helpCase Study: Healing and AutonomyMike and Joanne are the parents of James and Samuel, identical twins born eight years ago. James is currently suffering from acute glomerulonephritis, kidney failure. James was originally brought into the hospital for complications associated with a strep throat infection. The spread of the A streptococcus infection led to the subsequent kidney failure. James’ condition was acute enough to warrant immediate treatment. Usually cases of acute glomerulonephritis caused by strep infection tend to improve on their own, or with an antibiotic. However, James also had elevated blood pressure and enough fluid buildup that required temporary dialysis to relieve. The attending physician suggested immediate dialysis. After some time of discussion with Joanne, Mike informs the physician that they are going to forego the dialysis and place their faith in God. Mike and Joanne had been moved by a sermon their pastor had given a week ago, and also had witnessed a close friend regain mobility when she was prayed over at a healing service after a serious stroke. They thought it more prudent to take James immediately to a faith healing service instead of putting James through multiple rounds of dialysis. Yet Mike and Joanne agreed to return to the hospital after the faith healing services later in the week, and in hopes that James would be healed by then. Two days later the family returned, and was forced to place James on dialysis, as his condition had deteriorated. Mike felt perplexed and tormented by his decision to not treat James earlier. Had he not enough faith? Was God punishing him or James? To make matters worse, James kidneys had deteriorated such that his dialysis was now not a temporary matter, and was in need of a kidney transplant. Crushed and desperate, Mike and Joanne immediately offered to donate one of their own kidneys to James, but they were not compatible donors. Over the next few weeks, amidst daily rounds of dialysis, some of their close friends and church members also offered to donate a kidney to James. However, none of them were tissue matches.James’ nephrologist called to schedule a private appointment with Mike and Joanne. James was stable, given the regular dialysis, but would require a kidney transplant within the year. Given the desperate situation, the nephrologist informed Mike and Joanne of a donor that was an ideal tissue match, but as of yet had not been considered—James’ brother Samuel.Mike vacillates and struggles to decide whether he should have his other son Samuel lose a kidney, or perhaps wait for God to do a miracle this time around. Perhaps this is where the real testing of his faith will come in? “This time around, it is a matter of life and death, what could require greater faith than that?” Mike reasons.Write a 1,200-1,500 word analysis of “Case Study: Healing and Autonomy.” In light of the readings, be sure to address the following questions:Under      the Christian narrative and Christian vision, what sorts of issues are      most pressing in this case study?Should      the physician allow Mike to continue making decisions that seem to him to      be irrational and harmful to James?According      to the Christian narrative and the discussion of the issues of treatment      refusal, patient autonomy, and organ donation in the topic readings, how      might one analyze this case?According      to the topic readings and lecture, how ought the Christian think about      sickness and health? What should Mike as a Christian do? How should he      reason about trusting God and treating James?Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. Medical Office Management-Assignment 4

Home>Homework Answsers>Nursing homework helpPart A: Kayla Christianson, CMA, has been employed six years by the cardiology practice of three physicians. She is a graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited school. Furthermore, Kayla received extensive hands-on training performing ECGs while doing her required externship.Kayla has completed an ECG ordered by Dr. Hsu for Mrs. Warner, a 76-year-old patient. Dr. Hsu, Kayla’s boss, has telephoned her explaining that he was behind schedule doing rounds at the hospital. He asked her to do him a favor and interpret Mrs. Warner’s ECG, sign his name, and fax the report to Mrs. Warner’s referring internist who is expecting the results.Provide detailed answers for each of the following questions. Your response should be two (2) pages in length.· Given the scope of Kayla’s education, training, and years of experience as a CMA, would this favor fall within the AAMA guidelines of her responsibilities?· Would any portion of Dr. Hsu’s request fall within the guidelines? If so, which portion(s)? Is an exception to these guidelines ever allowed?· How should Kayla respond to Dr. Hsu?Part B: For more than two years, medical assistant Linda Lewis had been employed by Drs. Norek and Klein, who are gerontologists. Also on staff are two registered nurses, a medical laboratory technician, and a medical social worker. The daughter of one of the doctor’s patients has just called the office. She is very distraught at the seemingly diminished capacity of her mother and insists on speaking to the doctor.Linda explains that both physicians take only emergency calls during patient appointment hours, but that she will take a detailed message. This caller, however, suggests that not only should her call be considered an emergency, but that she will sue the doctor if the call is not handled accordingly.Provide detailed answers for each of the following questions. Your response should be two (2) pages in length.· What should Linda do immediately to diffuse the situation?· Is this clearly a case when the call should be passed on to one of the registered nurses or the medical social worker?· Is this a case when the physician should be called to the telephone because of the threat of an impending suit?· How could Linda ascertain whether or not this is indeed an emergency? Is it up to her, as a medical assistant, to make such a determination?· Because this is the patient’s daughter rather than the patient herself, does Linda have any reason to enter into a conversation with the caller? Could Linda be ethically bound by confidentiality not to admit the woman’s mother is a patient?4 years ago04.06.202140Report issueAnswer(2)Ranchoddas Chanchad PhD4.7(254)4.1(10)ChatPurchase the answer to view itNOT RATEDMedical_Office_Management.docx4 years agoplagiarism checkPurchase $40lady kate3.9(4)(Not rated)ChatPurchase the answer to view itNOT RATEDPreliminarystatementtoanswer.docx3 years agoplagiarism checkPurchase $2Bids(110)Dr Michelle MayaDr. Adeline ZoeQuickly answerTutor Cyrus KenTutor FaithCreative GeekgrA+de plusYoung NyanyaMUSYOKIONES A+WIZARD_KIMQuality AssignmentsSynco_SolutionsYourStudyGuruNightingaleAmanda SmithBrainy BrianDr shamille Clarawizard kimKATHERINE BECKSJah Providesother Questions(10)Impact of Internal and External AssessmentRTI (Response to Intervention) BrochureResearch Paper on Evaluation: Each student in the course selects an evaluation area of interest to them (policy or program),….
