The geopolitical area contains community boundaries, environmental elements, plant life, weather, public transport, wildlife, facilities and homes. The community may be enveloped by mountains or wilderness. Natural disasters and injuries may arise and fluctuate with geographic areas. A geographic information system can be useful for healthcare specialists when identifying geographic or population boundaries. According to Green (2018), Geographic Information System (GIS) “helps to determine where there are disparities, health behaviors, or health deficits in an environment related to the geography of the area.” A phenomenological place is a mental place rather than a geographical place. This place concentrates on history, culture, economics, education, spiritual beliefs, values and common characteristics (GCU, 2018). These ideas establish a perspective in which the participants of the community feel as though they fit in. The community elements are the bases when identifying the community assessment.

According to Green (2018), “Public health nursing focuses on groups, populations, or the health of an entire geographical sector.” Therefore, whole public health utilizes the knowledge to push interventions to enhance stated health disparities. Public health demands are constantly changing and are what make the advancement of programs to enhance public health.

The community assessment involves studying the protection and wellbeing of a community to comprehend the connections among the people, environment, and resources. The nurse uses various methods of assessment of the environment and population before starting programs. The nurse prepares nursing diagnoses for the community created on the results and challenges decided from the community assessment. Public health nursing is motivated by the demands of the population for the prevention of disease and the development of the communities’ health.

The community health nurse must perform a series of actions to identify subjective and objective data and evaluate the information. After understanding the information, the nurse must recognize the demands and create a plan, an intervention and evaluate the data collected.

Qualitative Research Article Critique

For this assignment you will choose a qualitative research article, I  recommend you find something that is interesting to you. The article  should be published within the last five years, if you find a good  article older than five years I can review it and you may potentially  use the article. Please follow the rubric to critique the article.  Please look at the longer description on the rubric. Your critique of  qualitative research will be different than a quantitative research  critique, you will be looking for different things. You will be  identifying key elements of qualitative research as well as appraising  the trustworthiness of the study. Your critique should be 3-5 pages in  length. Please use APA format. Please cite your resources, I will be  using your citation to look up your articles so you will not need to  submit a copy of the article to me.

Engaging in formative and outcome evaluation assists health care administrators in determining what modifications, if any, are necessary to contribute to the effectiveness and success of health programs. Within the inherent dynamics of providing health care services to changing populations and within the changing health care landscape, formative and outcome evaluation represent essential tools in the health care administrator toolkit. Results that contribute to understanding why certain programs may or may not work successfully for a given audience or population help health care administrators apply theory to practice. This application of theory to practice allows health care administrators to ensure that the health care programs and services offered by their agencies or organizations remain consistent with the needs of the audience or community served, as well as contributing to the competitive advantage within the health care marketplace.

1.  Pick one of the grand nursing theories from chapters 7-9 (except Henderson or Peplau)

3.          Read the following case study and think about how your theorist would interpret the assessment information provided and intervene. All of this should be consistent with the grand nursing theory you choose.

1. State which theory you are using In your initial post. Try to be the theorist and see the case from the theory.  For example if you were Roy  you will write about maintaining infection control for the baby in the NICU since her theory is on adaptation to the environm 

3. Write a nursing diagnosis (see PP in lecture)

4.  Write one intervention for the diagnosis that could be applied to the family in the case study. You may choose either the mother, the infant, or the family as your focus.  THE

Case Study

Mrs. Bedlam gave birth to a premature boy baby 3 weeks ago. The baby is still in the NICU at the major medical center 45 miles away. Mrs. Bedlam has only been able to visit once a week when her husband has a day off and can watch their other children, all girls, ages 1, 3, 4, and 6.

The Bedlam family moved from Saudi Arabia 2 years ago. Prior to this pregnancy, Mrs. Bedlam was taking Prozac for depression. She states she feels so guilty because she can’t come to see the baby more often and can’t breast feed him as her culture demands.

Baby Boy Bedlam has necrotizing entercolitis and at least one intracranial bleed. He now weighs 1800 grams. His ventilator is set to deliver 85% oxygen.
