Telenursing and telemedicine will only be successful if patients engage in the program. You have been asked by your manager to pilot a program aimed at improving transitions of care using the new telemedicine system recently implemented at your hospital.

In order to evaluate an evidence-based practice project, it is important to be able to determine the effectiveness of your change. Discuss one way you will be able to evaluate whether your project made a difference in practice.
Discuss why EBP is an essential component of the practice of a BSN-prepared RN. Identify two ways in which you will continue to integrate evidence into your practice and encourage it within your work environment. What obstacles could challenge this plan, and what steps will you take to minimize their impact?
Review the feedback on the change proposal professional presentation and make required adjustments to the presentation. Present your evidence-based intervention and change proposal to an interprofessional audience of leaders and stakeholders. Be prepared to answer questions and accept feedback.
After presenting your capstone project change proposal, write a 250-350 word summary of the presentation. Include a description of the changes that were suggested by your preceptor before your presentation and how you incorporated that feedback. Describe how this interprofessional collaboration improved the effectiveness of your presentation. Include a description of the feedback and questions from your audience after your presentation, and how this experience will affect your professional practice in the future.
Think about disasters your community has or could potentially face. Now, think about how your community is helping its members prepare.
- Explore your community and find an advertisement that represents helping community members be prepared for a disaster.
- Examples could be a billboard, poster at a bus stop, marquee sign, flyer, yard sign and more. Example: Sign advertising ‘free’ flu vaccinations at a local pharmacy.

- If you cannot find any advertisement in your community, describe a type of advertisement for disaster preparedness you think would be most beneficial to your community and how it would be best conveyed.

Another challenge in the translation of evidence is the consumer. Few consumers understand “evidence.” How can the needs of consumers be addressed in translation science?
A 5th grader is staying home from school because of Tourette syndrome. The specific tic bothering her is licking her lips and around her oral area. As described by her mother, the area is raw and red and she is embarrassed and does not want to attend school. Please educate yourself about Tourette syndrome from the textbook. Briefly describe what Tourette syndrome is. Secondly, how would you work with the student, then collaborate with her family and possibly physician, her classmates and other staff to work to get her back in school and to stay in school. The WHO has published an important document titled, “Social Determinants of Health—The Solid Facts.” It states:
Even in the most affluent countries, people who are less well off have substantially shorter life expectancies and more illnesses than the rich. Not only are these differences in health an important social injustice, they have also drawn scientific attention to some of the most powerful determinants of health standards in modern societies.
