1. The final project for this course is a Research Paper. The first two assignments will help you find the tools needed to prepare and gradually build your final research paper. The research paper for this course will be argumentative. The argumentative research paper requires you to take a position on an issue and support the position with persuasive facts and statements.
2. First, select a Research Paper TOPIC that can be assessed using health care economics principles.

a. Introduction -Your introduction should give a brief overview of the topic you are going to discuss. The last sentence of your introduction section should be your thesis statement. Your thesis statement should start with – The purpose of this paper is to…..

b. Body of paper – The body of your paper should organize how you plan to address each required section of the paper. Each supporting item is then broken down into smaller supporting items.

• An overview of the issue
• Why is this issue a concern from a health care economics perspective?
• Who are the major parties involved in this issue?
• Which market forces have an impact on this issue?
• How is demand illustrated in this issue?
• How is supply illustrated in this issue?
• How has the affordable care act impacted this issue?
• How are health disparities demonstrated in this issue?
• How has this issue been improved in other global markets?
• What is your recommendation for making improvements based on economic principles?

c. Conclusion – The conclusion of your paper should summarize your thesis statement and the supporting items discussed in your paper. In this outline, please indicate what you expect the finding to be.

d. References – Provide list of five (5) bibliographic references (using APA format). Your final research paper will require seven (7) bibliographic references. (You may use your textbook as a reference and you should have a minimum of 6 academic outside references including 3 peer-reviewed journal articles

Chapter 24: Palliative and End-of-Life Care

The hospice nurse has a unique role in the provision of end of life services. 

1. Mention important roles (at least 3) of the nurse while providing quality end -of-life care to seriously ill persons and their families. Explain your answer.

Training and development prompts a change within an organization. The goal of training is to identify areas for improvement and develop materials and opportunities to educate employees in order to support growth.

For this assignment, you are required to develop a small training exercise. Review your needs assessment and previous observations conducted on your work environment to help identify one area for improvement that would benefit a part of your organization. This training exercise does not need to be implemented, but should include at least one deliverable that you could use during the training exercise. As you are reviewing your organization, consider employee engagement, systems, procedures, communication, and the culture within the organization. These are suggestions for possible areas that could benefit from a training exercise. The training must include the following:

1. What      goal is the organization trying to accomplish?
2. What      processes or procedures will change after the training?
3. Describe      the strategies or actions involved in the training exercise to meet      established goals. What is the expected performance or applications after      the training? How will the strategies drive successful business results      and improve employee performance?
4. How      will the organization provide support to the employees receiving training?      To new employees? Does this support consider strengths and weaknesses      within the organization?

You are required to develop a written description (1,000 words) including one visual for your training exercise. Be sure to take time to analyze your work surroundings and identify a need for further training and development.

The format of your paper should be in a narrative format, addressing each column of the Logic Model as you discuss the program, how well it addresses the health issue and its effectiveness. Your paper should be 1- 2 pages, double-spaced, and follow APA 7th edition format. More information can be found in Chapter 14.

You will include the primary NCHEC Area of Responsibility and Competencies you are addressing in this assignment as a separate paragraph. Discuss the areas you are practicing for this assignment and the specific competency(ies) you are utilizing. Discuss the importance of these competencies as it relates to the profession of public health.
