Data Mining in healthcare only help healthcare providers detect patterns of disease and areas that need improvement within their community.  Data mining gives way for new areas of research in healthcare that we may not have known we needed until the data was mined for specific information.  Data mining can also tell us how we are doing as a healthcare organization.  Are we on the right track?  Do we have a lot of areas for improvement?  Is there justification for new technologies, more staff or supplies?  The possibilities are endless for the potentials that data mining can assist with in healthcare and many other industries.
