Hart City Case Study – Scenario 1 Program Transcript
Stacey: Hello, I’m Stacey. Thank you for meeting me today. I read your intake application, and I want to understand more about how I can assist you. Can you tell me a little about what brings you in today?
JEAN: Hello, Stacey. My name is Jean. I just moved here. I’m originally from Haiti.
Stacey: Welcome to heart city, Jean. You don’t sound too happy.
JEAN: Well, I am having trouble finding work. It doesn’t seem like anyone is hiring carpenters right now. I have a wife and two children to take care of. So I need to find work as soon as possible. I feel like I’m being punished.
Stacey: Punished?
JEAN: Yeah. Since I am new here, I don’t have a church. I have been so busy applying for jobs that I haven’t had the time to look for a new church. My faith is important to me. And I want my children to have other kids to play with. Natasha is four years old, and James is two years old. So they are not in school. Having kids to play with helps them learn social skills. You see, in Haiti, we were very close to our neighbors. And this church was like a family. I really want to add have that here to. I know I have said a lot.
Stacey: It seems like you are experiencing difficulties in a couple of different areas of your life right now. Let’s discuss how a holistic approach may benefit you. [MUSIC PLAYING]
