Discuss how you would evaluate your health promotion/intervention program. What would your process, impact, and outcome evaluation consist of? What evaluation methods would you use? What problems are you likely to encounter in the evaluation process?

SLP Assignment Expectations

Your assignment will not be graded until you have submitted an Originality Report with a Similarity Index (SI) score <15% (excluding direct quotes, quoted assignment instructions, and references). Papers not meeting this requirement by the end of the session will receive a score of 0 (grade of F). Papers with a lower SI score may be returned for revisions. For example, if one paragraph accounting for only 10% of a paper is cut and pasted, the paper could be returned for revision, despite the low SI score. Please use the report and your SI score as a guide to improve the originality of your work.

The cost of healthcare in the U.S. is often discussed by the press. Trends in healthcare spending are determined by public and private decisions about health care delivery and reflect the values and beliefs of society and policy makers.

Compare the distribution of healthcare expenses for 2017.

Aggregate Community Windshield Survey

There are two parts to the windshield survey assignment. In Week 1 you are required to submit a draft of your survey. In Week 2 you will submit your final windshield survey based on feedback from your instructor and your continued work.

In a Microsoft Word document of 3-4 pages formatted in APA style, you will describe the aggregate and community in which the aggregate is located. Please note that the title and reference pages should not be included in the total page count of your paper.

Describe the Aggregate

Begin the assignment by describing your aggregate. Include the following information:

Name of the aggregate

Geographical location and size

Population

A brief history

Basic vital statistics

Crude birth rate, infant mortality rate, life expectancy, leading causes of death, and any other relevant statistical information related to the health of the aggregate from the windshield survey.

Explain, giving at least two reasons, why you selected this particular aggregate for your Capstone project

Windshield Survey

With the use of public transportation or by driving a vehicle around the community, you can assess the common characteristics of the community of your selected aggregate.

Key observations to make during a windshield survey include the following:

Age and condition of the homes in the community

Location and condition of parks and other recreational areas

Amount of space between homes and businesses

Neighborhood hangouts

Transportation in the community

Quality of streets and sidewalks

Types/numbers of stores and other businesses

People out in the community

Race/ethnicity

Cleanliness of the community

Billboards or other media displays

Places of worship

Availability of services—doctor, dentist, social centers, recreation centers, hospitals

In community and public health nursing, the target of care is the community, thus the community is the client receiving the care. The role of the nurse is to evaluate health concerns and develop an aggregate plan of care to address those concerns. Aggregates or target populations in the community may include child care centers, cities, counties, senior centers, homeless shelters, minority communities, faith-based organizations, work sites, schools, or other populations.

Identify and discuss a few targeted populations in your community that are of interest to you.

Provide your rationale  for the selections identified.

You make some good points and what about the impact on the nursing? I have seen an increase in use of PA and NPs as a result of the shortage. It can drive more to our profession which could be great, but in the meantime how do we ensure that we have staff to address the access issues?

1. ACA reduced the number of Americans without healthcare coverage to a historic low of 8.8% in 2016. The act also increased access to healthcare and finances by expanding Medicaid offering more people with low-income to access healthcare. Finally, ACA increased preventive care allowing recognition and treatment of chronic diseases before they become fatal.  
2. The value-based payment for hospitals reduced negligence and improved the quality of healthcare. The act also increased healthcare access by nearly 20 million people gaining coverage. Healthcare access is pivotal for the provision of better healthcare services. 
3. The ACA is a political battle due to the negative effect that the act has on the wealthy. Repealing the act will reduce tax burdens by $46,000 for American millionaires (Kirsch, 2013). The act also spurs political battle due to the individual mandate directive that remains controversial (Kirsch, 2013).
