In this written assignment, you will examine each of the three types of nursing theory-grand, middle range and micro-range.

 Write a two-page (minimum) paper, not including the title page or the reference page. For all professional papers, you will need a title page, an introduction paragraph, the body with research, a conclusion and a reference page. All format must be in 7th edition APA. For the body of your paper, address the following objectives and separate using distinct paragraph headers:

• Define and/or describe grand, middle range, and micro-range nursing theory. For each type of theory, give one theorist and his or her theory as an example.
• Which theory are you most likely to use in your practice? Explain your reason.
• Which theory would you like to incorporate more into your practice in the future? Explain your reason.

Effective Communication

The Joint Commission reported that [poor] communication was the root cause of 66% of Sentinel Events between 1995-2005. Examine the communication and collaboration in your workplace. Include these aspects:

• The components necessary for effective interpersonal communication.
• Discuss the importance of interprofessional collaboration.
• Apply components of interpersonal communication to interprofessional collaboration.
• Discuss strategies to promote interprofessional collaboration.
• Describe effective strategies to build interprofessional teams.
• Cultural competence

Assignment Expectations:

Length: Between 1500 and 2000 words

Structure: Include a title page and reference page in APA format. These do not count towards the minimum word count for this assignment. Your essay must include an introduction and a conclusion.

Research and summarize two articles pertaining to this weeks topics

Three to five pages, APA formatted ,describing the critical areas of research. Journal and/or peer reviewed articles required. Industry terminology must be used. Current research, within the last five years preferred.

Option 1: Exploration and Effects on Native Americans

• Explain what motivated the European world powers to explore the Americas.

Option 2: Slavery vs. Indentured Servitude

• Explain how and why slavery developed in the American colonies.
• Describe in what ways the practice of slavery was different between each colonial region in British North America.

Option 3: Women in Colonial America

• Pick two colonies (New England, Middle, or Southern colonies) and explain how women’s roles differ in the two colonies of your choice.
• Describe what legal rights women held during the colonial period.
• Analyze how Native women’s lives were different from colonial women’s lives.
